Six days till

My favorite Tiger, Rohan Davey. This picture is one reason why as it is a succinct description of watching Rohan Davey play quarterback. I know it's tiny, but you'll notice that a hostile and sizeable defensive lineman has just collided with Davey. It has little or no effect. Rohan had a tremendous arm and is just casually attempting to hit someone, probably Josh Reed. Reed is somewhere eighty yards down the field running their favorite route. The coaches loved that one, where Reed would just run wayyyy down there and Rohan would just unleash some crazy pass on 3rd and long. I loved the slapdash, pure fun of watching all of this. Some dude would hit Rohan, slide or bounce off, and Davey just slings the ball somewhere, away LSU goes on another first down. He threw for over 3,000 yards and is the only qb besides Hodson to tosss for over 400 in a game (444 in the 2001 Sugar Bowl). All of this and he was built, well, I'll let Orson at Every Day Should Be Saturday describe it in Rohan Davey's induction to the our Favorite Players Hall of Fame.

  1. Nice. I did enjoy Rohan. But he also threw for 500 yards in a game against Bama in 2001, when he and Josh Reed(293 receiving yards) just went off.

  3. what's not to love? the guy could out do me AND you at the buffet and still play top notch SEC ball. Plus, he was at LSU about the same time I was, so it's a sentimental favorite. I thought he was a talent from the moment we recruited him and it was great to see him prove it on the field.

  4. And froberts, I was at that game. It was a blast. Everyone, Bammer and Tiger fan alike, was anticipating every play just wanting to see Davey toss it to Reed again. 293 receiving yards is just sick.
