Less Than 58 Days Till

The offseason drifts by for us as linebacker guru Chavis giving some pointers to Tahj Jones.

Yeah, yeah, this is a day late and a dollar short, Sue me, so I was a bit lackadaisical in getting a photo up, it's hard finding current one's that match the number. And there's no real legend with that number. So there.

Time to celebrate kids, football is here.

After watching those two plays alone I am geeked and more than ready to see some Tiger football.

Two days till

The scuttlebutt is we and especially our enemies are going to be seeing a great deal of this, #2 pulling in a pass, in the coming weeks.

Also, TWO DAYS!!!!! It's getting hard to think about anything else.

Four days till

He's pointing at me, thanking me for all the hard work I've put in here. Thanks Jai, get you some this year. If you and the guys do well enough, you can muss Urban's hair again:

Five days till

He's second on the depth chart behind Scott so you know he'll see the field. This guy was hyped up and has delivered, but he's never quite broken through to star status. Some says it's because of troubles holding on to the ball, some say it's his hesitation in hitting the hole and just going all ahead full after being handed the ball. As we once more head into the breach dear friends, we'll be sure to see Williams and what he can offer this season.

Seven days till

Patrick Peterson begins his quest to become the best CB in the SEC. His words, not mine. He's good enough to do it. Awesome photo "borrowed" from Times-Picayune archives. I doubt they mind...Sorry about the size, but it's too good of a photo to reduce down.

Eight days till

I got a fever and the only prescription, is more football. Seriously, we're so close now. I'm getting the shakes and stuff. Or maybe that's just all the Fun Dip I just ate. It's so close now dammit!

Friday bonus:

Nine days till

"We've got a chip on our shoulders," Jefferson said. "We've got a point to prove this year. We want to let everybody know that LSU hasn't gone anywhere. I know a lot of teams have us circled on their schedule.

"That's OK, because we've got a lot teams circled, too."

Bring it on brother. I am fired up to have this talented a kid, this much of a leader and this much of a player. He gets it. And I can't wait to see him for a whole season leading this team.

Ten days till

I will echo the last line from Jeff's post. If you're not getting excited yet, you're probably dead. I'm excited we're only a week and some from football season. I'm excited about seeing what Russell Shepard can do on the field. I'm excited about tailgating with all my friends and family. The list could go on and on.

Twelve days till

Lee is easily the most embattled quarterback of my lifetime. Yeah, there was some controversy with Hodson/Loup or Josh Booty's worthless ass starting over Rohan Davey. But I've never seen a kid become such an icon (of fear, hatred, respect) inside of one season. The past is done and nothing can be done about it. What I like is that this guy is back and we need him. There's not much better on an offense than to have a salty backup qb ready to take the reins if your starter goes down. That's peace of mind I can be very happy with. I just hope Lee will find some as well, peace of mind and happiness.

Thirteen days till

Ron Brooks has been coming on strong so I'm sure well see more big plays out of him. From what I hear, it'll be hard to keep him off the field, defense and special teams.

Eighteen days till

Here's to Dickson making All American. He's a reliable receiver that a kid like Jefferson could really use. He could have a huge year.

And here's to no more 10:00am kickoffs. Ever. It was real, real fun having no tailgate, watching us whip Appy St. and then prep for a hurricane.

Twenty days till

After retiring the number last year, LSU pretty much ensured the great All American, Heisman winner and Hall of Famer Billy Cannon will always appear here.

Twenty-two days till

Contrary to what you might think, this isn't a photo of Ryan Baker at practice. This is actually a picture taken with a special enhanced camera that can see him while he travels on the astral plane to stalk and haunt other teams at practice. He does this while he's physically in class, eating lunch or volunteering with charities.

Twenty-three days till

Two things I'm predicting this year:

Harry Coleman blossoms in his new position under a new defensive coordinator

We monkey stomp Alabama.

So basically this is the before picture for both of those.

We'll need more of this from Hawkins this season, and not just against the Eagles of Auburn.

Thirty-two days till

There's going to be lots of these scenes this year, especially on October 3rd in Athens, so like this picture but better.

34 plus 32, divided by 2 equals 33. So there. Ridley and Scott. I have complete faith in these two tearing it up this year. And for some lagniappe, here's the biggest number 33 of LSU history I ever saw.
