Dandy Don says Doucet may be out for up to three weeks. I agree this is a big blow to the team. But unlike Don, I don't think it is season threatening. Lafell will step up, and Byrd and crew will provide the backups. LSU is deep. A couple of games (USC and Tulane) should provide enough experience to allow Lafell or one of the others to step up.

Update: Actually, Coach Miles is worried it's a long term injury as well.
It appears to be a pretty significant injury.

Dandy Don is sticking to the safe, low scoring scenario. He's not buying the idea that VT's D is overrated. Well....I disagree, but we'll know for sure in a few days.

Dandy Don thinks VT is the best team on the Tigers' schedule this year and that Saturday will be a low scoring game. As long as the Tigers have 50.1% or greater of the total score, I'm fine with that.

For the record, I disagree - I think Florida will prove to ultimately be the best team on the schedule, and I think LSU will score more than 20 points on Saturday night. But Don's an expert, so I wouldn't bet on my guess over his.

DANDY DON wraps up Coach Miles' Tues radio show. For those hung up on uniforms, it's white jersey's for MSU, purple for Tulane.

Dandy Don thinks the Dawgs won't roll over. Maybe so, but I bet they'll consider playing dead before it's all over.

He's also concerned about the availability of tailgaiting spots on campus mid-week. A Tiger fan with his priorities in line. Good luck with that, Don.

Update: Don's worried for good reason.

Dandy Don on Thursday's season opener against MSU: "The only way that LSU could lose is if they turn the ball over several times deep in their own territory by fumbling or throwing interceptions. One other thing that could hurt LSU's chances of winning the game would be a large number of penalties nullifying scoring plays or long gainers." I'd say that's about right. I doubt they're looking past the Bulldogs.
